This Sunday, we started off our Mission Trip at Yurigaoka Christ Church! We are spending the majority of the week with this church, and are excited to serve in any way that we can. As a team, each of us had a different role for Sunday service. I would be leading a time of praise, Li would be sharing his testimony, Trevor would be preaching the Word, and Ai would be translating throughout the service. We were all a bit nervous, but faithfully let the Lord work through us. We also had an opportunity to lead "Deep Down in my Heart" with the Children's Ministry, was able to spend time with every life stage of Yurigaoka Church that day.

Monday was an opportunity for us serve and play with the Yurigaoka Kindergarten school. They consider it a mission field by inviting the families of the children to be exposed to the Bible and the Gospel, while providing support and a network for the mothers. To see this church evangelize in such an interesting way was encouraging for us as a team and gave us the energy for our activities after class.
We had the opportunity to do street evangelism around Yurigaoka church, around one of the bustling intersections. We handed out flyers for an English Bible Class the church was holding, and got to interact with people who had questions and were genuinely interested in what this was. We were happy to help out Yurigaoka church and get the word out about one of their ministries. I was personally encouraged to see the church so faithful to God and hungry to see others come to know Him as well.

While we have been serving Yurigaoka church, they had been serving and loving us as well. With shared meals and testimony sharing, it has been a wonderful opportunity to encourage believers and nonbelievers here and be encouraged as well. The more and more I interact with the people of Japan, the more I see how much God loves these people and wants a relationship with them. I can't wait to see what the rest of this mission has in store for us.
Prayer Requests
- That we may have our energy come from the Lord that is supernatural and unexplainable.
- That language would not be a barrier for the few of us that cannot speak Japanese fluently.
- For the churches in Japan to continuously be the hands and feet of Jesus, with workers being plentiful for the bountiful harvest.
