July 24-27, 2019 VBS at Yokohama International Baptist Church

Good morning and Good evening everyone!

Today was the last day of VBS at Yokohama International Baptist Church (YIBC). After few days of taking small steps of sharing that Jesus is the Messiah, we summarized the gospel, and asked if they would choose to believe

This week we were at YIBC to help with the VBS that hosted 150 children! Trevor was with the Kindergarteners, Ai with the 1st and 2nd graders, Daniel with the music team, and Li with the game and recreation team! Although we were still recovering from the sickness, we were able to get a “go sign” from the local doctor (one of the deacons of YIBC), and serve with just enough energy for each day! This was a daily reminder that God is our provider, sustainer, and that we can't do anything without receiving His power!

The kids learned the theme verse John 20:31 “But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God.” through the morning worship and activities through out the day such as dance, craft, games, and story time that were prepared to help the kids understand and remember the message they have learned that day.

Seeing the children who hear the gospel for the first time mumble “sin...” and “Jesus..” to themselves during the Bible story time, reciting the memory verse over and over with their friends, shouting out praise songs and jumping up and down singing “One way! Jesus! You’re the only one that I could live for!”... We can say that the VBS was a great success!

We wouldn't know how long it may take, whether it may be instant, or in few years when they grow older, but what we're sure about is that the gospel was sown in each of the hearts. We pray that they will keep the seed of the gospel and continue to seek Jesus so it will bear bountiful fruit one day!!

Tomorrow will be an open Sunday service, and the parents will be coming to church to see their children perform the praise songs and dances they have learned during VBS. This will be a great time for the family to connect to the church:)

Prayer requests:

- Please pray that the children will be connected to church even after VBS, and that they may continue to seek Jesus!

- Please pray for the team members’ complete recovery from sickness, also that we can be fully rested after a busy week of VBS.

- We will have a week to rest and prepare for the next church, where we will be preaching, sharing testimonies, offering special praise, and more opportunities to share the gospel. Please pray that we may be able to prayerfully prepare, so we can proclaim the gospel humbly but boldly.
